Jinmao Tower

Jinmao Tower, also known as the Jinmao Building, is located in the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone on the Huangpu River in Pudong New Area, standing at a height of 420.5 meters. To the east lies the bustling scenery of Pudong New Area, to the west you can gaze at the elegant views of Shanghai city and the Huangpu River, to the south is the Zhangyang Road commercial district in Pudong, and to the north is the 100,000-square-meter Central Green Space.

The surrounding road network is well-developed, offering extremely convenient transportation. Cross-river tunnels and Metro Line 2 provide direct access. It takes just 2 minutes to reach the most bustling districts of Puxi via the tunnel, and only 30 minutes by car to either Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport or Pudong International Airport, making its location highly advantageous. Construction began in 1994 and was completed in 1998. The building has 88 above-ground floors, or 93 if including the spire, with up to 130 elevators and 555 guest rooms. It has become a landmark of Shanghai. Integrating modern office buildings, a five-star hotel, an exhibition center, entertainment facilities, shopping malls, and more, the tower combines Chinese pagoda-style architecture with Western construction technology, making it a multifunctional skyscraper.

Jinmao Tower covers a land area of 23,611 square meters, with a total floor area of 290,000 square meters. It was once the tallest building in Shanghai and mainland China, but was surpassed by the neighboring Shanghai World Financial Center on August 29, 2008. Floors 3 to 50 of Jinmao Tower feature spacious, column-free spaces that can accommodate over 10,000 people working simultaneously. Floors 51 and 52 are mechanical equipment levels. Floors 53 to 85 house the world’s highest—ultra-luxury—Hyatt Hotel. Floor 86 is the Entrepreneurs Club; Floor 87 is a sky restaurant; and Floor 88, at 340.1 meters above ground, is the second-highest observation deck in China, capable of hosting over 1,000 visitors. Two high-speed elevators, traveling at 9.1 meters per second, take guests from the basement level 1 directly to the observation deck in just 45 seconds. From there, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Shanghai’s new skyline.

The basement of Jinmao Tower has three levels, with a partial fourth level, covering a construction area of 57,151 square meters. It includes a parking lot with 800 parking spaces and a bicycle garage for 2,000 bikes. The parking system offers smart cards for monthly, quarterly, and annual parking based on different needs, or timed tickets for casual parkers. The 800-space parking lot is equipped with a real-time parking space guidance system, displaying and updating information on available spots on every level and in every zone. Additionally, 360-degree rotating cameras monitor each area, ensuring your vehicle is safe while parked in the underground garage of Jinmao Tower.
