Montreal Garden

Montreal Garden is located within the Century Park Bird Sanctuary, covering an area of 20,000 square meters with a total investment of 20 million RMB. The entire Montreal Garden consists of islands, a lake, a large exhibition hall, a multimedia theater, a coffee bar, and more. The garden primarily showcases Canada’s high-tech multimedia technologies, and its overall design concept reflects the theme of valuing harmony among people, nature, and technology, cherished by both peoples.

On July 13, 2000, the Mayor of Shanghai – and Mr. Pierre Bourque, Mayor of Montreal, held the inauguration ceremony for the garden.

On February 14, 2001, Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and the Mayor of Shanghai – jointly inaugurated the Montreal Garden website and planted an Eastern Foundation Stone symbolizing the bridge of friendship between the peoples of the two countries and the cities of Shanghai and Montreal.
