Shanghai Flower Port is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a science education base.

Shanghai Flower Port is a major move in Shanghai’s agricultural industrial restructuring. It serves as an agricultural park aimed at serving the entire nation, focusing on training flower farmers and exporting flower seedlings. Located north of Shanghai’s aviation hub and south of the Harbor City New Town, Shanghai Flower Port will be developed into a functional extension of the Harbor City New Town, a floral horticulture radiation area for the Shanghai World Expo, and a demonstration zone for modern urban agriculture.

Shanghai Flower Port is mainly composed of four parts.

1. A 60-hectare automated greenhouse production area;

2. A 28-hectare new flower variety exhibition area;

3. A 7-hectare education, research, and promotion area;

4. A 3-hectare supporting service area. Its hardware and software facilities are leading in China and advanced internationally.

The Tulip New Variety Exhibition Area covers an area of 28 hectares. The park is planted with 3.2 million tulips, featuring over 300 varieties, and showcases a distinctive array of shapes and colors. Directly opposite stands a 30-meter-long white artificial waterfall cascading from the rocks. To the east of the exhibition area stand three classic Chinese carpenter-style windmills, exuding a strong pastoral charm. The area also features traditional Chinese wooden bridges and houses in various forms. Thanks to careful cultivation by horticultural technicians, including soil improvement, nutrient substrate application, and adjusted planting methods, the blooming period of the 3.2 million tulips can be extended to a full month until the end of April. The establishment of this exhibition area allows flower enterprises and farmers to order new varieties needed for annual cultivation without going abroad. A professionally tailored set of new varieties and planting methods suitable for different regions in China helps flower growers reduce costs and increase efficiency. The nearly one-month flowering season also offers citizens the chance to admire the enchanting beauty of colorful tulips. The Shanghai Flower Port Tulip New Variety Exhibition Garden will become a new highlight of modern planting technology agriculture and sightseeing agricultural tourism. Agricultural experts have described it as a new model of urban agricultural operation that serves both farmers and the public.

1. Take Metro Line 2 to Century Park, then transfer to the Shidong Special Line to Shanghai Flower Port

2. Take A20 to A2, exit at A2 Hu’nan Highway, make a big turn onto Hu’nan Highway, drive straight along Hu’nan Highway, pass through Nanhui Huinan Town, and you will see signs to Flower Port along the way. Approximately 45 minutes (after exiting A2) to reach Flower Port.
