Xinchang Ancient Town is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Xinchang Town still retains its ancient town charm, with some historical scenes and relics preserved. Historical records of Xinchang Town mention scenic spots and historic sites such as the "Ten Scenes of Sunshan," the "Thirteen Arches and Nine Ring Dragons (Bridges)," and the "Stone Pier and Masonry Banks of Ma’an Water Bridge."

The so-called "Ten Scenes of Sunshan" refer to "Shisun Li" (Stone Bamboo Shoots Village), where it is said that bamboo shoots were once discovered in the sand at Shitouwan on Shou’en Bridge in Xinchang. They were so deep that their bottom could not be seen, which is why Xinchang Town was also known as "Shisun Li" in the past.

These ten scenes are: Bamboo Shoots by the Stream, Autumn Coolness at the Study Tower, Morning Bell at Thunder Temple, Evening Boats on Heng Pond, Vermilion Caves and Danxia, Sea Eye Spring, Sunny Clouds over the High Pavilion, Misty Rain over Shangfang, Moonlit Night Through the Ages, and Snow-Covered South Mountain After the Snowfall.

Xinchang Town has a long history and is rich in the characteristics of the Jiangnan water towns. It has been well preserved, with its original ancient streets, bridges, temples, and trees all reflecting the unique charm of the ancient town. As the only thousand-year-old ancient town with water town features in Pudong, after renovation and development, it will surely return to nature and shine with captivating brilliance. 1. By Bus: Take Metro Line 2 to Longyang Road Station, then transfer to Longpinglu Special Line, Longda Special Line, Hu’nan Line (Dongchang Road Ferry – Hui’nan Town Bus Station), Tangnan Special Line, Tangshao Special Line, Guangye Line (Guangyue Road – Wildlife Park), Yuanye Line (Yuanning Road – Wildlife Park), or Longniguoguo Line (Longyang Road Metro – Nicheng ~ Orchard). Get off and turn around, then walk east (right) at the intersection of Shisun Street. You’ll see Xinchang Ancient Town within a few dozen meters.

2. By Car: City area – Inner Ring Elevated Road – Nanpu Bridge – Longyang Road – Hu’nan Highway (passing through Beicai Town, Zhoupu Town, Xiasha Town, and Hangtou Town) – Xinchang Town
