Lingang New City

Lingang New City is situated on the shores of the East China Sea, at the convergence of the Yangtze River estuary and Hangzhou Bay in the southeastern part of Shanghai, at the very forefront of Shanghai’s territory. It lies 50 kilometers from downtown Shanghai, bordered to the north by the Dazhi River, to the west by the Suburban Ring Road A30 and Outer Ring Road A20, as well as the boundary between Nanhui and Fengxian Districts, and to the east and south by the riverside and coastal areas. The planned area covers 300 square kilometers. With its unique geographical advantages and strategic location, Lingang New City has become a powerful engine for Shanghai’s future development. The Donghai Bridge connects Yangshan Deep-Water Port with Lingang New City, while the Hu-Lu Expressway, urban rail lines, suburban ring roads, A20, Lianggang Avenue, and Pudong Railway form a rapid transit network that brings Lingang New City within easy reach of all districts and counties in Shanghai. Lingang New City is set to be an important auxiliary urban center to Shanghai’s core city area, a key stage and powerhouse for the city’s economic development strategy shifting eastward.

Lingang New City is divided into the main urban area and the industrial zone (including the main industrial zone, heavy equipment industrial zone, logistics park, and comprehensive zone). The main urban area is a comprehensive urban living and service district centered around Dishui Lake, which covers 5.6 square kilometers. The planned area is approximately 100 square kilometers, with around 50 square kilometers allocated for urban construction. The lake features three islands (an island for star-rated hotels and business operations, an island for entertainment and leisure theme parks, and an island for yacht docks and sports activities), and the surrounding areas expand outward in a ring and radial pattern, forming urban living zones, urban park landscape belts, and metropolitan residential zones, with an expected population of 500,000 to 600,000. The industrial zone is a functional block primarily dedicated to industrial development, covering about 200 square kilometers, with around 120 square kilometers designated for urban construction and a population of nearly 500,000. This zone serves as the main hub for modern equipment manufacturing, focusing on modern equipment industries, export processing, and high-tech sectors. The heavy equipment industrial zone and logistics park are crucial supports for building an international container hub port, functioning as an integrated international trade platform that combines warehousing, transportation, processing, trade, bonded services, port-side industry, distribution, value-added services, and international commerce.

With blue skies, clear waters, and green trees, the future Lingang New City will be an eco-friendly green city—a future-oriented city that fulfills the dreams of humanity in the new century.

Transport Directions: Take Metro Line 2 to Longyang Road Station, then transfer to the Longgang Express (Longyang Road Metro Station – Lingang New City) directly to Dishui Lake in Lingang New City; or take Tourism Line 2, Zhangnan Line (Zhangjiang Metro Station – Hui’nang Bus Station), Nanxin Line (Shanghai Railway Station – Hui’nang Bus Station), or Hu’nan Line (Dongchang Road Ferry – Hui’nang Bus Station) to Dongmen in Hui’nang Town, then transfer to Airport Line 8 (Pudong Airport – Shiwan Town – Hui’nang Town – Zhonggang – Xingang – Lingang New City) to reach the Deep-Water Port Business Plaza.
