Nanhui Peach Blossom Village is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Shanghai Nanhui Peach Blossom Village is located in Huinan Town, Nanhui District, Shanghai, close to the urban area with convenient transportation. The park features nearly 500 acres of peach orchards, water bodies, and various rare tree species, serving as the main venue for the Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival over the years. In October 2004, it was invested in by Shanghai Lelian Industrial Development Company, with renowned landscape design expert Le Feng overseeing the overall design, and the China Development Research Image Engineering Committee responsible for the overall planning. After four years of reconstruction, it has been transformed into a Chinese-style garden integrating outings, vacations, and leisure.

As one of the main venues of the Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival, Nanhui Peach Blossom Village is situated at No. 289 Beimen Road, Huinan Town, Nanhui District, approximately 48 kilometers from the city center. The park encompasses 360 acres of peach groves, over 60 acres of water bodies, and more than 100 acres of various rare tree species. It welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors from the city and across the country every year.

Visitors can cruise along the water, where hundreds of acres of peach blossoms compete in beauty against the backdrop of blue skies and clear waters, creating a breathtaking sea of flowers. Alternatively, they can disembark and stroll through the peach blossom paradise, immersing themselves in the floral expanse—becoming part of the poetic scenery where “human faces blush with peach blossoms.” Currently, the village opens around 300 acres of peach orchards, water bodies, and various rare tree species to the public. The entire Peach Blossom Village embodies the philosophy of “building the garden with poetry, sketching it with paintings, and infusing it with emotion; creating landscapes with greenery, shaping scenes with art, composing poetry with views, and carrying culture through scenery.” It has become a real-life urban paradise of peach blossoms.

Another distinctive feature of the Shanghai Nanhui Peach Blossom Festival is the seamless blend of beautiful natural scenery with the simple, rustic charm of local village life. Visitors can stroll along rural paths, rest amidst the chirping birds and blooming flowers, go fishing, or sample rustic delights such as shepherd’s purse wontons, pumpkin cakes, melon pancakes, Sanhuang chicken, and freshly caught fish and shrimp. They can also enjoy folk performances with distinctive Pudong characteristics, including dragon and lion dances, peach blossom basket dances, Jiangnan silk and bamboo music, gong and drum storytelling, and boat-rowing shows.

Huinan Town: Huinan Town (Santuan) was the former seat of government of Nanhui County, located in the central part of the county. In the early years after liberation, it covered about 1 square kilometer, expanding to 1.43 square kilometers by the end of 1985. The population was around 4,100 in the early post-liberation period, grew to 21,289 in the 1982 Third National Census, and reached 24,492 by the end of 1985. The name “Huinan Town” came into use after the implementation of the baojia system in the county in 1934, derived from the meaning “bringing benefits to Nanhui,” and originated from the Huinan Academy in the town.
