Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park

On August 22, 2017, Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park announced that it would officially open in the summer of 2018. Located in Shanghai’s Lingang New City, the ocean park is divided into five themed areas and one ocean-themed resort hotel, featuring six large exhibition venues, four major animal interaction and performance arenas, two large cinemas, and more. According to the project’s engineering director, one of its highlights is the innovative Antarctic penguin display format — the Penguin “Super Bowl” exhibit pool. The pool uses acrylic glass that allows for all-around, high-definition, close-up views of penguins and other polar marine animals. The “Super Bowl” has now arrived at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park and is in the full installation phase.

For this upcoming park in Shanghai, Haichang Ocean Park expects it to welcome 5 to 6 million visitors annually once it reaches maturity. Currently, this largest developer, operator, and builder of ocean-themed parks in China has developed, constructed, and operated 11 theme park products across the Bohai Rim, Central China, the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, as well as in Shanghai, Sanya, and Zhengzhou.
