Shanghai Expo Permanent Exhibition Halls

The 28-square-kilometer Expo site of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo set a record in Expo history. After the Expo ended, apart from the permanent “Expo Axis and Four Pavilions,” most of the temporary pavilions were demolished.

The “Expo Axis and Four Pavilions” refer to the Expo Axis, China Pavilion, Expo Theme Pavilion, Expo Center, and Expo Culture Center — five iconic permanent structures from the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Among them, the Expo Axis served as the central landscape axis of the Expo site, acting as the main passageway connecting the other major pavilions and functioning as the primary entrance and exit during the Expo. It continues to serve as the main axis for spatial landscape and pedestrian flow within the Expo site.

The China Pavilion has been preserved as a permanent thematic museum of the Expo. The former China Pavilion now houses the Shanghai Art Museum, which has been renamed the China Art Museum (Shanghai). The China Regional Pavilion is now used as a venue for various exhibitions and events.

The Expo Center has been transformed into a world-class international conference center.

Transportation

Take Metro Line 1 (toward Xinzhuang), get off at People’s Square Station, transfer to Metro Line 8 (toward Aerospace Museum), get off at China Art Museum Station (Exit 2), and walk to the Shanghai Expo Exhibition Hall.

Tickets

Saudi Pavilion (now known as the Moon Boat), with regular ticket prices at 60 RMB and 100 RMB on weekends and holidays;

There is also the Italy Pavilion, with tickets priced at 45 RMB, closed on Mondays.
