The Shanghai Wind Power Science Popularization Museum is a science education base.

The Shanghai Wind Power Science Popularization Museum is located within Binhai Forest Park. It has an exhibition area of 1,000 square meters spread over two floors. The first floor features two major exhibition areas: "Warnings About Energy" and "Wind and Wind Energy," while the second floor includes the "Wind Power Generation" and "Wind Power and Us" sections. The entire visit begins with a three-minute short film titled "Future Energy Crisis" and ends with the development of the concept of "green electricity." It introduces in a progressive manner scientific knowledge such as how wind forms, the types of wind, how to measure wind, and the harm caused to the Earth's environment by excessive human exploitation of fossil fuels.

The "Warnings About Energy" section mainly introduces how the excessive exploitation of fossil fuels by humans has harmed the Earth's environment, how existing energy reserves are dwindling, and the urgency of seeking renewable energy sources. The "Wind and Wind Energy" section primarily covers the formation of wind, types of wind, how to measure wind, and the historical development of human use of wind energy. The "Wind Power Generation" section focuses on the principles behind how wind energy is converted into electrical energy and the development of wind power.

In the museum, visitors can learn about our ancestors' history of using wind energy through models such as sailboats, water-lifting windmills, and flour-grinding windmills. They can also see models of various types of wind turbines from around the world that differ in shape and principle, such as flying windmills and solar tower thermal updraft windmills. Visitors can also experience the power of wind through games like competing with windmills, and learn various facts about wind and wind power generation through interactive multimedia displays located throughout the venue.
