The Shanghai Integrated Circuit Science and Technology Museum is located in the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park. It is China’s first integrated circuit science and technology museum and the first thematic science education venue primarily focused on the integrated circuit industry. The Shanghai Integrated Circuit Science and Technology Museum is a national-level science education base, planned, invested in, and constructed by Spreadtrum Communications (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. under the guidance and funding of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the People’s Government of Pudong New Area. The venue covers an exhibition area of approximately 2,200 square meters and officially opened to the public on January 5, 2009, with upgrades completed by the end of 2012. It opens a window for science and technology enthusiasts to explore the mysteries of integrated circuits, using high-tech methods to showcase basic knowledge about integrated circuits, and allowing visitors to personally experience the various amazing functions of integrated circuits. The museum features rich content, including 3D stereoscopic imaging, a dome theater, interactive robots, a rocket with automatic voice narration, the latest model mobile phones, and various applications of integrated circuits in smart cities, smart communities, smart homes, and mobile communications. Through physical displays, simulation devices, multimedia presentations, virtual reality films, and other means, visitors can get up close with these increasingly small yet powerful integrated circuits and understand just how important they are in our daily lives.
