The Shanghai Supercomputing Center is a patriotic education base.

The Shanghai Supercomputing Center (SSC) is located in the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park in Pudong. It is a high-performance computing public service platform that is open to the public, shares resources, features first-class facilities, and offers comprehensive functions. As an important information infrastructure in Shanghai, its primary function is to provide high-performance computing application services for various industries across Shanghai and the rest of the country. Its main clients are the R&D departments of universities, research institutions, public welfare organizations, enterprises, and institutions. The center has achieved a number of significant results in fields such as physics, chemistry, astronomy, surveying and mapping, drug design, life sciences, weather forecasting, new materials, automotive, large aircraft, nuclear power, new energy, and major municipal engineering projects. It serves as a key support for strengthening China’s independent innovation capability and building an innovative city. The center is also committed to promoting awareness and understanding of high-performance computing. It has been designated as a National Youth Science and Technology Education Base, as well as a district-level, municipal, national-level science education base, and a district-level patriotic education base. The base mainly showcases to visitors the technological advancements and social changes brought by computers to human society through their development and applications, aiming to inspire visitors’ patriotism.
