Developed by Zendai Investment Group in the Lianyang International New Community in Pudong, “Thumb Plaza” is a mixed-use community commercial center integrating shopping, leisure, entertainment, dining, hotels, and art. Situated at the intersection of Fangdian Road and Lilac Road, it faces the Laya Plaza (LAYA PLAZA) across the street. Upon entering the plaza, you’ll find the iconic sculpture “The Thumb” by French surrealist master César, part of Zendai Group’s art collection — hence the name “Thumb Plaza.” In addition to this signature sculpture, the plaza showcases various personalized artworks and design pieces. The nearest metro stations are Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Station on Line 2 and Yanggaozhong Road Station on Line 9, though both are a bit of a walk away. The entire plaza is nestled among high-rise residential buildings, with the main structure consisting of two above-ground floors, some sections extending to one to three floors, and two underground levels for parking and auxiliary facilities.

The architectural complex features an open and minimalist design, with its scattered, irregular layout giving off a casual, individualistic, and laid-back vibe. The plaza is organized around four themed pedestrian streets — finance, food, leisure, and shopping — interconnected via winding themed plazas. Dining, shopping, and socializing areas are relatively segregated. The plaza frequently hosts special events. The underground level mainly houses shops and public services, including a parking lot (free parking with a Carrefour receipt), Carrefour, and Food Republic. The first floor is primarily for dining, the second for clothing and entertainment — featuring venues like Hotmaxx — and the third accommodates office spaces and the Tomato Football Field. Popular dining spots include Starbucks, Jia You Mian, Qianqiu Shanfang, and Hubu Alley Cultural Creative Restaurant. The main clientele consists of nearby residents and office workers.

Thumb Plaza is a comprehensive commercial complex that combines food, entertainment, and shopping, featuring numerous well-known brands. As it is positioned as a community-oriented plaza, it doesn’t get overly crowded, making for a pleasant shopping experience.
