Jinshan District is located on the shores of Hangzhou Bay in the southwestern suburbs of Shanghai. It serves as the western gateway from Shanghai to Zhejiang Province. The district covers a total area of 586 square kilometers and has a population of 550,000. It is Shanghai’s chemical industry base as well as a production hub for grain, cotton, oil, and non-staple food.

Jinshan Seaside Bathing Beach is located along the beautiful shores of Hangzhou Bay, featuring gently sloping beaches, fine and soft sand, and a solid seabed.

Jinshan District boasts a coastline of 23.3 kilometers, of which 12.5 kilometers are suitable for comprehensive development and utilization. These will be divided into three sections planned from east to west: the eastern section for port areas, chemical industrial zones, and modern logistics bases; the central section for the Shanghai Aquatic Products Wholesale Trading Market, convention and exhibition centers, yacht club premium clubs, dining, and commercial venues; and the western section for low-rise coastal residential areas.

The swimming area spans over 800,000 square meters, with more than 20,000 square meters of original tidal flats. Jinshan Seaside Bathing Beach is adjacent to the modern industrial new town of Jinshanwei District, which offers comprehensive facilities including commercial services, cultural education, healthcare, tourism and entertainment, dining and accommodation, and municipal infrastructure.
