The East District Fire Station, built in 1937, is the only relatively intact historical site of modern firefighting in the Shanghai area. The site currently displays: historical photographs and materials on Fengjing’s firefighting history, as well as some actual firefighting equipment from the early 20th century to the 1950s. It was designated as a district-level cultural heritage site of Jinshan District on October 26, 2005. In 2014, it was jointly designated as a municipal cultural heritage site of Shanghai along with the Firefighting Memorial Tower.
