Chastity Bridge

Chastity Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Jinshan District.

Chastity Bridge is located 10 meters west of No. 6190, Group 2, Qinwang Village, Zhangyan Town. It is a single-span beam bridge, built in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926) by the Gaoya Yantang for a chaste woman surnamed Chen from the clan. Made of granite, it runs from north to south, with a total length of 13 meters, a width of 1.66 meters, and a clear span of 5.18 meters. The bridge deck is composed of three slabs, with six steps at each end of the bridge, and the sides of the bridge deck are inscribed with the upright regular-script characters “Chastity Bridge.” A stone stele inscribed with “Record of the Chastity Bridge” is embedded on the eastern side of the southern bridge pier. In 2011, it was designated as a Jinshan District-level cultural relic protection unit.

Qinwang Village: Located in the northwest of Zhangyan Town, Jinshan District, Qinwang Village borders Langxia, Luxiang, and Jinshanwei Towns. It is traversed by Jinzhang Highway, Jinzhang Branch Line, and Jinshi Highway, with the A6 Expressway also passing through the village. The village covers an area of 5.18 square kilometers. After the liberation in 1949, Qinwang Village was part of Qinwang Township, Zhangyan District, Jinshan County, Jiangsu Province. In 1956, it became the Changbang Agricultural Production Cooperative; in 1958, following the establishment of people's communes, it was known as Changbang Brigade; and in 1984, it was renamed Qinwang Village.
