The Zhangyan Qian Family Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit at the Shanghai municipal level.

The Qian Family Ancestral Hall is located at No. 15 Dongheyan Road, Zhangyan Town. Belonging to the Zhangyan Qian family, it is a branch of the Qian family from Qianwei. The hall faces west and is built with a brick-and-wood structure in a traditional courtyard layout. Currently, the rear hall and two side wings remain, totaling 17 rooms with a construction area of approximately 352 square meters. It was designated as a cultural relic protection unit at the Jinshan District level in 2007.

Zhangyan Town: The name "Zhangyan" reflects the town's deep historical roots. The character "Zhang" is said to be linked to Zhang Liang, a founding hero of the Western Han Dynasty over two thousand years ago, who retired after his achievements and is believed to have sought the immortality of the Red Pine Hermit, once residing here in seclusion. To this day, the street name "Liuxi Road" remains in the town. The character "Yan" refers to one of the "Eighteen Seawalls" built along the coast of Huating during the late Tang and early Five Dynasties period (around 907 AD). By the Qing Dynasty’s Qianlong era, “only the Zhangjing Seawall remained.” The ruins of Zhangjing Seawall are located at the entrance of Shipi Lane in present-day Zhangyan Town. The town of Zhangyan was established on the site of the ancient Zhangjing Seawall.
