Ganshen Site

The Ganshen Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Ganshen Site is located in Group 7 of Shaji Village, Caojing Town. The Ganshen is a sand ridge formed by the accumulation of shells from deceased marine mollusks and sand. It was documented as early as the Shaoxi-era "Yunjian Zhi" (Chronicles of Yunjian) during the Southern Song Dynasty. The Ganshen Site runs from north to south, measuring approximately 40 meters in length, 20 meters in width, and covering an area of about 800 square meters. C14 isotope dating indicates that it was formed 6,400 years ago. This site is the only remaining ancient biological and sand ridge relic in the district, and also serves as one of the important physical evidences of ancient coastal changes in the Shanghai area. It was designated as a Jinshan District-level Cultural Relics Protection Unit on October 26, 2005.

Shaji Village: Shaji Village is located in the northeast of Caojing Town, adjacent to the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. To the east, it borders ?rque Village in the Fengxian subdistrict; to the south, it neighbors the Logistics Industrial Park of the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park; to the west, it is separated from Shuiku Village in the same town; and to the north, it adjoins Huangsha Village in the Fengxian subdistrict. The village covers a total area of 4.92 square kilometers, with 3,738 mu of cultivated land. It comprises 25 villager groups, with 1,008 households and a registered population of 3,357. Major transportation arteries such as the S4 Expressway, Pudong Railway, Puwei Highway, Zhuanghu Highway, and Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway pass through the village.
