Nanyanggang Ancient Cultural Site

The Nanyanggang Ancient Cultural Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the district level in Jinshan District.

The Nanyanggang Ancient Cultural Site is located in Group 11, Daxing Village, Shanyang Town. In 1960, during the dredging of the old Hongqi Port, gray cultural deposits were discovered on the riverbank at the confluence of Nanyanggang and Qinglonggang, covering an area of approximately 500 square meters. Archaeological surveys confirmed that the cultural layer is about 1.5 meters deep and extends roughly 50 meters in length. Artifacts collected include stamped hard pottery fragments featuring decorative patterns such as meander, rice-character, and grid motifs from the Wu-Yue culture of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, as well as fragments of pottery vessels such as sand-tempered cord-marked tripod cauldrons and flat-footed ding vessels. In 2005, it was designated as a Jinshan District-level cultural heritage protection site.
