The Bai Dai Little Red House

Built in 1921, the building covers a land area of approximately 192 square meters, with a construction area of 480 square meters. It is an independent garden residence in the Dutch architectural style. The structure is a pseudo-three-story brick-and-wood building. The central part of the north facade is surfaced with stone, while the southern balcony is supported by double columns. It features square-shaped doors and windows and an exposed red brick exterior wall, and is commonly known as the "Little Red House."

The Little Red House was the Asia-Pacific headquarters of the Pathé Records and also the birthplace of China's recording industry. In 1935, the theme song of the Shanghai Diantong Film Company's movie "Children of Troubled Times," "March of the Volunteers," was recorded here. On September 24, 1949, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference designated this song as the national anthem. In 2005, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government listed it as an outstanding historical building of the city.
