Fuxing Middle Road

Fuxing Middle Road is the best embodiment of Shanghai's cosmopolitan flair. This century-old street is home to numerous former residences of famous figures, memorial halls, and parks, such as the Former Residence of Liu Haisu, the Site of the Early CPC Party School, and Fuxing Park. The French-style architecture and the scattered plane trees along Fuxing Middle Road exude the romantic charm of Shanghai. Sitting in a small café on the side of Fuxing Middle Road, listening to bossa nova, breathing in the faint aroma of coffee, and watching the bustling traffic through the floor-to-ceiling windows—perhaps, as they say in Shanghainese, this is what "qiangdiao" (style) is all about.
