Supported by the government and established by private initiative, the Shanghai Old Camera Manufacturing Museum is located at No. 308 Chongqing South Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai. The exhibition hall includes a special section for Chinese old camera manufacturers, a technology showcase of the fully mechanical 120 twin-lens reflex (film) camera “Seagull” 4A-109 model, a group sculpture of commemorative photography moments, a precious camera collection exhibition, and the complete traditional assembly line of the fully mechanical 120 twin-lens reflex (film) camera “Seagull” 4A-109 model. The museum centers around the sole surviving and highest-standard traditional assembly line of its time — the “Seagull” 4A-109 model — and unveils the principles of camera manufacturing through five major exhibition areas: classic cameras, classic manufacturing, classic imagery, classic experiences, and explains the origins of photographic culture, conveying the unique sentiments and reverence of the old camera manufacturing era.
