Former Site of Pathé Records

A modern architectural landmark in Shanghai. The Pathé Building is a three-story red-brick structure built in the 10th year of the Republic of China (1921), and was once the site of the former Pathé (Baide Dai) record company. This small red building has recorded music for many famous singers in history, such as Zhou Xuan, Yao Li, and Li Xianglan. Iconic Chinese songs like "March of the Volunteers" and "Tuberose" were also created here. In 2005, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government designated it as an Outstanding Historical Building.

The building has now been converted into a Western restaurant called Restaurant Martin, which specializes in creative fusion cuisine blending Chinese and Western flavors. In 2010, Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero dined here. Sightseeing at this tourist attraction requires advance booking, with a limit of 10 visitors per day.
