Shanghai Xupu Bridge
Xupu Bridge is the river-crossing point at the southern end of Shanghai's Outer Ring Road. It serves as a key transportation hub directly connecting the Hu-Ning and Hu-Hang expressways into Shanghai, and is also the most convenient route between Hongqiao Airport and Pudong International Airport. As another cable-stayed bridge in the southern part of Shanghai's urban area that spans the Huangpu River, the main span is 1,072 meters long and 35.95 meters wide, with eight lanes in both directions. The main towers are A-shaped, standing 217 meters tall, and the cables are arranged in a fan-shaped pattern, consisting of 30 pairs totaling 240 cables.
The four Huangpu River bridges — Yangpu, Nanpu, and the later-built Xupu and Fengpu — laid the foundation for the development and opening up of Pudong, as well as for the integrated growth of Pudong and Puxi.
