Shanghai Armed Police Third Detachment First Company is a patriotic education base.

The company was established in 1943 as the Third Platoon of the Independent Battalion in Linshu County, Shandong. In 1949, it moved southward with Marshal Chen Yi, stationed in Shanghai, and was reorganized as the Third Platoon of the First Battalion, First Regiment of the Shanghai Armed Police Corps. In October 1976, it was stationed at Hengshan Park in Shanghai to undertake guard duties for the municipal Party committee offices. Since its establishment, the company has long been responsible for guard duties. During the years of the Liberation War, it was mainly tasked with guarding military regions and party-government organs. After the war, its primary responsibilities included guarding the offices of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and providing temporary guard duties for central-level officials visiting Shanghai. During the Liberation War era, its main duty was to guard military regions and party-government organs, and after the war, it primarily guarded the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee offices as well as temporarily visiting central-level officials. The company has been awarded the collective Second-Class Merit five times, the collective Third-Class Merit six times, and has been recognized as an advanced unit for “Supporting the Government and Cherishing the People” by Shanghai Municipality 14 times, as a “Civilized Unit” six times, and was honored as a “Model Grassroots Construction Company” by the Armed Police Headquarters in 1999.
