Shanghai Public Security Fire Brigade Second Detachment Caohejing Squadron

The Shanghai Public Security Fire Brigade Second Detachment Caohejing Squadron serves as a patriotic education base.

Established in December 1995, the squadron has a staff of 60 members from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Anhui, Shandong, Jiangxi, and Henan. It operates six standby fire trucks, covering a fire protection area of 35 square kilometers that includes parts of the Caohejing High-Tech Development Zone, Caohejing Town, Hongqiao Town, a section of Meilong Town, as well as the southwest corner of Xuhui District and the northeast corner of Minhang District. In addition to its regular firefighting duties, the squadron also undertakes emergency rescue operations for major fires and various disaster incidents across the city.

Since its establishment, the squadron has responded to an average of 584 fire alarms per year, participated in 158 disaster relief operations, rescued over 60 people, and saved or evacuated materials worth approximately 15 million yuan. The squadron has been awarded two collective commendations, three classes have received third-class collective merits, 11 individuals have earned third-class personal merits, and 175 commendations have been granted in total.

The officers and soldiers of the squadron regard the people as their parents and their station as their hometown. While fulfilling their firefighting responsibilities, they actively participate in local initiatives for “two civilizations” development, support underprivileged students, assist elderly people living alone, and have formed deep bonds with the community through their dedicated actions.
