YanDang Road Leisure Street

YanDang Road Leisure Street is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Known as the "Back Garden of Huaihai Road," YanDang Road Pedestrian Leisure Street stretches from Huaihai Middle Road in the north, passing through Xing’an Road and Nanchang Road to connect with Fuxing Park Boulevard in the south. It is a 24-hour pedestrian street.

Divided by the northern entrance of Fuxing Park, the northern section of YanDang Road features colored pavement bricks and is lined with palm trees; the southern section lies within Fuxing Park and is flanked by plane trees on one side. YanDang Road was built in 1902, originally called Junying Road and later renamed Hualong Road.

The commercial offerings along YanDang Road mainly include cafés, bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, and beauty salons. Shops along the street feature various types of tea houses, open-air bars, Chinese and Western restaurants, and almost all globally renowned international cuisines can be found here, making it a leisure street with a truly global village vibe. On both sides of the street, classic French-style garden villas, apartments, and buildings complement the Golden Yanfang complex, which combines newly constructed faux-European Byzantine and arcade-style architecture. There are also small boutiques selling custom-made and discounted traditional Chinese attire, Brazilian crystal specialty shops, and stores dedicated to cosmetics and daily necessities. Accessible via Metro Line 1 and buses 96 and Tourist Line 10.
