Wangb脖子 Mountain Ruins is a cultural tourism attraction.

Wangb脖子 Mountain Ruins, located 11 kilometers southwest of Bayan County on the second-level terrace of the northern bank of the Songhua River, lies atop a long ridge (陇岗) that rises 50 to 70 meters above the surrounding plains. This ridge stretches over 10 kilometers from west to east in undulating fashion, with its northern side gently sloping into the plains and its southern and western sides marked by relatively steep earthen cliffs. The ridge has been cultivated into farmland. The ruins are located on the southwestern edge of the ridge. Due to the terrain’s resemblance to a turtle’s neck extending into the floodplain of the Songhua River, it is commonly known as “Wangb脖子 Mountain.”

Discovered during the 1982 cultural relics survey, the site was investigated and re-examined twice, in the spring of 1993 and the spring of 1994. The ruins stretch approximately 1,200 meters in length and 500 meters in width, covering an area of about 600,000 square meters. On the western and southern sides of the site, exposed cultural layers are about 1.5 meters thick and contain a rich and diverse array of artifacts. Most of the collected items date back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, along with numerous fish bones and various animal bones. Stone tools collected include stone balls, choppers, flaked stone flakes, blades, cores, pressure-flaked arrowheads, spears, polished stone axes, adzes, gouges, and stone beads. Bone tools include awls and armor fragments. Pottery shards from the Bronze Age are mainly sandy gray and yellowish-brown, adorned with decorative patterns such as punctuation, puncture marks, and incised lines, and the vessel forms include dou (tripods), li (cauldrons), bowls, and jars. Bronze artifacts include buttons, earrings, arrowheads, and bells. Iron Age relics include? (unspecified tool), hoes, axes, and scrapers.

Shachang Ruins, located 1 kilometer west of Jiangjiadian Village, Songhua River Township, Bayan County, on the southwestern side of the long ridge (陇岗) south of Wangb脖子 Mountain, are about 300 meters west of the Shaoling River. Discovered during the August 1996 cultural relics survey, the site measures approximately 500 meters north-south and 300 meters east-west, covering an area of about 150,000 square meters, with cultural layers around 0.3 to 1 meter thick. Collected artifacts include flaked fine stone flakes, polished stone chisels, remnants of pressure-flaked willow-leaf-shaped arrowheads, pottery net sinkers, spindle whorls, and sandy pottery shards, as well as fragments of bronze curved knives and iron scrapers.
