The Forest Mini Train Resort is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

A national 2A-level tourist attraction, located 83 kilometers from Harbin City, this is a forested natural scenic area. It opened to the public in July 2000. Covering a total area of 0.078 million square kilometers, it spans 80 forest compartments across eight forest farms: Xinmin, Qingfeng, Heping, Erhe, Taiping, Fengshan, Shuguang, and Xiaodong.

It has been designated as a Youth Civilization Unit in Heilongjiang Province and a Civilized Tourism Attraction in Harbin City. The resort features a “1-3-1” tourism framework system: “One Line, Three Scenic Spots, One Rafting Trip.” “One Line” refers to the world’s longest narrow-gauge forest railway, stretching 188 kilometers through the rugged mountains of the Xinglong Forest Area.

“Three Scenic Spots” include the Korean Gaoli Village Folk Custom Scenic Area, Qingfeng Mountain Villa Forest Tourist Area, and Xiangmo Mountain Scenic Area. “One Rafting Trip” is the Chaling River rafting experience. The scenic area boasts lush green mountains and fertile land rich in resources. It serves as an important destination for scientific research, camping, and education, as well as a prime spot for sightseeing, summer retreats, and vacations.

The area is abundant in plant and wildlife resources. Cultural and historical attractions include the world’s longest narrow-gauge forest railway, the patriotic education base – the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces’ Secret Camp, and the Xiangmo Mountain Artificial Lake. Every September, the scenic area hosts the “View the Five-Colored Mountains, Pick Wild Fruits” event. The vast forests are home to over 170 species of rare birds and animals such as river deer, roe deer, sika deer, and hazel grouse. A wide variety of natural herbs, wild vegetables, wild fruits, and mushrooms flourish here, including ginseng, schisandra berries, astragalus root, eleuthero, monkey head mushrooms, fiddlehead ferns, kiwifruit, and mountain grapes. The land also holds over 30 types of mineral resources such as quartz, graphite, copper, iron, and mica. The forest is rich and diverse, featuring precious tree species like Korean pine, spruce, fir, Manchurian ash, walnut, and amur cork tree spread across the mountains.

By Bus: Take a bus from Harbin to Bayan County, then transfer to a minibus or taxi to reach the resort.

By Car: From Harbin, get on the Suiman Expressway, head towards Changchun/Suihua/Mudanjiang, take the ramp after 1.1 km to enter the Harbin Ring Expressway. After 2.7 km, turn right towards Suihua/Yichun, drive 1.0 km on the ramp to enter the Hegang Expressway. Drive 8.7 km straight to enter the Hasi Expressway, continue 1.6 km straight into the Hegang Expressway, drive 61.3 km, then exit at Xinglong. Drive straight onto the Xinglong Connector Road for 6.8 km, turn right onto Renmin Avenue and drive 6.0 km, then turn left onto Xinglin West Road and drive 1.0 km to reach the destination.
