Beian Wuyuer River National Wetland Park

Beian Wuyuer River National Wetland Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national wetland park.

Heilongjiang Beian Wuyuer River National Wetland Park (Pilot) is located in Beian City, Heilongjiang Province, with a total area of 1,453.8 hectares.

The national AAAA-level scenic area, Wuyuer River Wetland Park, located in Fuyu County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, covers an area of 3,100 hectares. The winding Wuyuer River flows slowly from east to west through the park. The wetland boasts a beautiful environment and pleasant scenery, with distinct seasons throughout the year. The area is rich in natural resources, home to over 200 species of herbaceous plants, more than 20 types of fish, 173 species of birds, and 15 species of cranes. Rare bird species include the red-crowned crane, white-naped crane, hooded crane, common crane, Siberian crane, swan, golden eagle, wild goose, and mallard—many of which are protected at the national level.

The superior natural environment provides ideal conditions for the ecological breeding of wild geese. The Wuyuer River wild geese are raised using a “no fences, no nets, no escape” method, allowing these free-range geese to return to nature and live in a primitive ecosystem, flying freely alongside wild red-crowned cranes and other wild geese, and foraging in the wild. Every morning, thousands of geese fly out of their shelters and head toward the grasslands and marshes to search for food. In the evening, under the glow of the setting sun, these geese return to their nests in majestic formations that stretch for several kilometers—an impressive sight. Goose releasing has now become a major attraction at Wuyuer River Wetland Park.
