Beian Qinghua Military Industry Heritage Museum

The Beian Qinghua Military Industry Heritage Museum is a classic red tourism attraction and a patriotic education base.

The Qinghua Military Industry Heritage Museum is located within the former site of the Qinghua Factory in Beian City, Heihe, and is an arms-themed military industry heritage museum centered on the historical legacy and development of the original Qinghua Tool Factory. The museum began its layout in 2012 and opened to the public in 2013. Covering a construction area of 6,400 square meters, it consists of an old factory building and a newly constructed three-story exhibition hall, featuring three exhibition areas and a shooting range.

The state-owned Qinghua Tool Factory was originally the Northeast Arsenal founded by Zhang Zuolin in Fengtian. In 1931, the factory came under Japanese and puppet control and was renamed "Fengtian Arsenal." In March 1946, the Kuomintang took over the "Fengtian Arsenal" and renamed it the "Ninety-first Arsenal of the Central Joint Logistics Command," with its "First Manufacturing Plant" being renamed the "Gun Plant of the Ninety-first Arsenal of the Central Joint Logistics Command." After the liberation of Shenyang in November 1948, the factory was renamed the "Fifth Arsenal General Factory," and the "Gun Plant" was renamed the "First Manufacturing Plant of the May 1st Factory." In November 1950, the gun plant from the general factory was relocated from Shenyang to the former site of the Northeast Military and Political University in downtown Beian, and was named the "Beian No. 1 Factory," while the second plant was named the "State-owned Qinghua Tool Factory." During the Korean War, many of the light weapons produced in China came from this factory.

In June 1988, after the factory was transferred to the Shougang Corporation, it became affiliated with the Shougang Machinery Engineering Corporation and was renamed Shougang Qinghua Tool Factory. The Qinghua Tool Factory produced 0–370,000 various types of firearms annually and was a leading enterprise in the national production of light weapons. The overall exhibition design of the Qinghua Military Industry Heritage Museum retains the original site and establishes three sections: the "Historical Exhibition Area," the "Transition Area," and the "Heritage Area," showcasing classic scenes of production and daily life at the original Qinghua Tool Factory in different styles. The Historical Exhibition Area comprehensively displays the history of the Qinghua Tool Factory and its outstanding contributions to the national defense industry. The Transition Area presents historical scenes from different periods. The Heritage Area displays two production lines for Type 56 rifles and submachine guns, exhibiting a total of 128 machine tools (including 7 national second-class cultural relics and 47 third-class cultural relics).
