Xiangyang Lake Scenic Area is a national A-level tourist attraction.

The Xiangyang Lake Scenic Area in Huanan is a national A-level tourist attraction, located in the central part of Huanan County, Heilongjiang Province, 9 kilometers northeast of the county town. It gets its name from being situated at the foot of Xiangyang Mountain and is known as the “Number One Lake of the Three Rivers.”

The lake is embraced by mountains, forming a V-shaped water surface of 15 square kilometers—twice the size of Hangzhou’s West Lake. Satellite photos show Xiangyang Lake like a sapphire embedded among the mountains. The dam is very picturesque, and standing on it, you can take in the vast expanse of green hills and clear waters, offering a view and beauty that surpass those of most reservoirs. Here, not only are the mountains and waters beautiful, dotted with pavilions, but the water is also crystal clear with suitable depths. The sandy beaches by the lake are soft, making it an excellent natural bathing spot comparable to Beidaihe. The Yuangjue Temple nestled among pine forests in two areas, along with lakeside pavilions, waterside pavilions, and the reflections of lake and mountain scenery, are visible everywhere.

Major attractions here include the Lakeside Bathing Beach, Xiping Mountain Scenic Area, fishing area under the dam, North Lake Resort, hotel entertainment city, and the temple Yuangjue Temple. Xiangyang Lake abounds in wild aquatic products such as carp, silver carp, grass carp, catfish, and lake shrimp. The western and northern parts of the lake feature low mountain and hilly landforms, vast and spectacular, while the southern part of the reservoir presents a pastoral landscape.
