Boat Dock Island

Located about 4 kilometers downstream from Luoguhe, on the northern bank of the Heilongjiang River, there is a natural island. The non-mainstream section of the river formed between this island and the shore is commonly known as "Taozi" (pocket). Within the Taozi, the water is calm, deep, clear, and the current is relatively stable. Since boats have been used in this river area, people have regarded this place as a natural harbor for fishing boats to dock, overwinter, and undergo repairs.

In modern history, during the second Battle of Yaksa between China and Russia, Commander Peng Chun once led naval troops to repair ships here and nurse soldiers back to health on the island. This island played a logistical support role in the battle to reclaim the territory of Yaksa. In the 1970s, someone caught a 460-jin (about 230 kg) kaluga sturgeon on the island using a net. Catching such a heavy fish in the headwaters of the Heilongjiang River broke a historical record. Currently, the island has set up multiple fishing spots and fish-watching platforms.
