The former residence of Zhang Jinghui, Premier of the puppet Manchukuo State Council, is a cultural relic protection unit of Jilin Province.

The former residence of Zhang Jinghui, Premier of the puppet Manchukuo State Council (West Residence), was originally located at No. 429, Ximinzheng Avenue, Chaoyang District, Changchun City. Construction began in July 1936 and was completed in 1937. The building has two floors above ground and one basement level, covering a land area of 1,791 square meters with a floor space of 1,042 square meters. The total cost was 147,000 yuan. The project was designed by the Construction and Supplies Bureau and constructed by the Toda Corporation. The main building’s first floor includes a conference hall, foyer, reception room, dining area, and other service rooms, while the second floor served as Zhang Jinghui’s office and family living quarters. The east garden in the courtyard consists of trees, flower beds, pavilions, a pond, and a lawn. A guard tower is located in the southeast corner, and there are also two bungalows in the southwest corner, which were the residences of the Chinese and Japanese “secretary officials,” respectively.

After liberation, the “residence” was successively used as a guesthouse for Soviet experts, a guesthouse of the Jilin Military Region, and the Bayi Guesthouse of the Jilin Provincial Military District. In 1994, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Changchun City by the Changchun Municipal People's Government.
