Martyrs' Tower in Huadian Town

The Martyrs' Tower in Huadian Town is located on the hillside near the East Bridge of Huadian Town, Ji’an City, about 1.5 kilometers from the town center, covering an area of 667 square meters. It was funded and built in July 1989 and rebuilt in September 2000. The martyrs' memorial tower is 6.5 meters high.

The original Martyrs' Memorial Tower of Huadian Town was located on the hillside near the East Bridge of Huadian Town, Ji’an City. It was built by the Huadian Town Party Committee, the People's Government of Huadian Town, and the local residents to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives here during the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War. The tower is columnar and flat in shape, featuring a five-pointed star embedded on it. At the top stands a sculpture of a PLA soldier holding a rifle. The front of the tower is inscribed with: “The glorious names of the martyrs will live forever”; the left side reads: “Honoring the martyrs’ merits and upholding the revolutionary spirit”; the right side states: “Inheriting the martyrs’ aspirations and forging ahead with the four modernizations.”

The Martyrs' Tower serves as an important site for patriotic education conducted by the Ji’an City and Huadian Town governments.

Huadian Town: In the early years of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty, the area was named Huadianzi due to its vast expanse of flowers and grass. It is located 39 kilometers northwest of Ji’an City proper. The town lies between 125°38′ and 125°52′ east longitude and 41°16′ and 41°23′ north latitude. It borders Taishang Town to the east, Caiyuan Town to the west, the Hunyuan Manchu Autonomous County of Liaoning Province to the south, and Touchao Town and Qinghe Town to the north.
