Ji’an Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery

Ji’an Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery is a patriotic education base.

Ji’an Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery, located within Yushan Park in Ji’an City, was originally situated in the fields on the southern slope of Dayushan Mountain, north of Ji’an County (now the site of the Electric Wire Factory). It was first built in June 1953. In 1957, it was relocated from the southern slope to the western slope of Dayushan Mountain. The cemetery covers an area of 10,000 square meters, with a construction area of 10,000 square meters.

Most of the martyrs buried in the cemetery were Chinese People's Volunteers who sacrificed their lives defending the nation during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, as well as combat heroes, model workers, and meritorious citizens from various military branches. A total of 859 martyrs are interred here, including 739 named martyr graves, 120 unnamed martyrs, and 857 tombstones. In October 1997, the first 32 tombstones were replaced with bluestone granite ones, each 1.3 meters high and 0.5 meters wide. All other tombstones were repainted. The cemetery is planted with more than 700 pine trees, creating a serene and solemn atmosphere with their lush greenery. The site is currently well-preserved, newly renovated, easily accessible, and convenient for paying respects.

In 1988, it was approved by the provincial government as a managed and protected provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. It is one of the important patriotic education bases in Ji’an City.
