Remnants of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Military School

The remnants of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Military School are a classic destination for red tourism.

The remnants of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Military School are located about 500 meters south of Group 4, Zhian Village, Yulin Town, Ji’an City, on the mountainside of the western hill at an elevation of approximately 30 meters. It is a natural limestone cave with a steep cliff over 10 meters high above the cave entrance. The opening is around 12 meters wide and about 2.5 meters high. The interior is quite spacious, capable of accommodating over 100 people, with a depth of approximately 50 meters. The site is in good condition, undamaged by natural or human forces. There are large farmlands at the foot of the mountain, and it is about 300 meters from the road, ensuring convenient access.

In September 1935, General Yang Jingyu led over 200 soldiers here to carry out anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare. In order to expand the revolutionary forces, General Yang recruited civilians, aspiring individuals, and local vigilantes to form the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces to fight the Japanese together. Due to the mixed composition and varying quality of the troops, political, military, and cultural education was needed for the soldiers, leading to the establishment of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Military School inside this cave. Yang Junheng, Chief of Staff of the First Army of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, personally gave lectures to the soldiers. Each training session had around dozens of students. Between 1935 and 1938, hundreds of Anti-Japanese Allied Forces soldiers received training and were developed into outstanding fighters and cadres who “fought for the people, for the revolution, and for freedom.”

The remnants of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces Military School are an important historical site related to Party history.
