Baishan Banshi National Mine Park

Baishan Banshi National Mine Park serves as a science education base.

Baishan Banshi National Mine Park in Jilin, affiliated with the Banshi Mining Company of Tonggang Group, is one of the first national mine parks approved for construction by the Ministry of Land and Resources of the People's Republic of China. The park covers a total area of 104.4 square kilometers and is composed of six major scenic areas: the Mineral Processing Scenic Area, Tailings Pond Scenic Area, Shangqing Scenic Area, Bangchuiyuanzi Scenic Area, Xizhenzhu Gate Scenic Area, and Kucanggou Scenic Area. Within the mine park, Jilin Province’s largest mine museum has been built, covering a total area of 3,700 square meters,

with a building area of 2,550 square meters. The museum is equipped with corresponding science education facilities and supporting amenities, featuring a total of 13 exhibition halls and 43 display rooms. It houses over 300 precious ore, mineral, and Earth resource specimens of various sizes, along with more than 700 other exhibits. There are also five auxiliary exhibition spaces, including a temporary exhibition hall, a multi-functional activity hall, and a multimedia demonstration hall. Additionally, the park features a mining equipment exhibition garden, a transportation and mineral processing equipment exhibition garden, as well as large-scale auxiliary facilities such as the park’s landmark stele and directional signs.

To better promote science education on land and resources, the Mine Park Management Committee, under the leadership and support of the Banshi Mining Company, has successively carried out geological management of tailings ponds, slope management of open-pit mines and waste rock dumps, vegetation restoration, and soil and water conservation projects. Centered around the mine museum, the committee has also conducted corresponding science education activities on land and resources, achieving certain results.
