Changbai Hot Springs Cluster

Changbai Hot Springs, also known as Julong Spring, is located on the northern slope of Changbai Mountain. About 900 meters from the Changbai Waterfall, in an area of approximately 10 square kilometers, over 30 springs gush out—this is the Changbai Hot Springs Cluster.

According to measurements by scientists, the water temperature can reach up to 82°C. Observing the hot springs involves appreciating them through sound, sight, and smell: Sound—bubbles resembling pearls rise to the surface, emitting a sound like boiling water; Sight—minerals deposited around the springs over the years create colors such as red, dark brown, yellow, blue, and green, resembling beautiful ceramics; Smell—a faint sulfur aroma wafts through the air around the springs, and the varying temperatures bring different scents. Some taste like soda, causing burps after drinking; some are sweet, similar to orange juice; others have a strong sulfur smell that’s hard to swallow.

In winter, the area around the hot springs is covered in a pristine white blanket of snow, yet here it is steamy and shrouded in mist—truly a unique and spectacular sight.

Changbai Hot Springs are known as "divine water," capable of relaxing muscles and improving blood circulation, as well as dispelling cold and curing ailments. They are particularly effective in treating arthritis, skin diseases, and more. There are hot spring baths available for visitors, with adjustable water temperatures. After bathing, you’ll feel especially refreshed.

Some of the more famous hot springs, such as Changbai Hot Springs, Tiyun Hot Springs, and Lakeside Hot Springs, are popular destinations for both domestic and international tourists. In addition, there are Lu Spring, Immortal Bridge Hot Springs Cluster, Eighteen Gully Hot Springs, Jade Spring, and Medicinal Water Spring.

Bathing at the Eighteen Gully Hot Springs is not only refreshing and extremely comfortable but also brings about the feeling that “the spiritual mineral spring water is pure, cleansing the body and lifting the spirit.” At moments like these, one can’t help but feel grateful toward the discoverer of the hot springs. Without their bold actions and courage back then, what would these springs be like today? Would they have even been discovered? The area where the Eighteen Gully Hot Springs are located is also a scenic and beautiful tourist destination. Less than a mile to the south, two graceful peaks stand like fairy sisters leaning on each other, whispering their inner affections.

Below the mountains, a small stream flows through the valley, with shimmering water and dancing mountain shadows—a uniquely beautiful landscape that is truly a delight to behold. It’s an excellent spot for therapeutic treatment, recuperation, tourism, and vacationing.
