When winds reach level five at the mountain top, the gusts here roar fiercely, whipping up sand and stones, making it nearly impossible for visitors to stand upright—they have to crawl on all fours just to reach the gap. Yet, from the Black Wind Gap, one can enjoy a full view of the Changbai Waterfall, making it an attraction visitors simply can’t miss. Introduction: While hiking up the northern slope to Heaven Lake, between the eastern end of Bulao Peak and the viewing platform, there is a concave gap in the cliffs—this is the famous Heifengkou (Black Wind Gap) of Changbai Mountain.
