Beauty Pine
Highlights The Beauty Pine gets its name from its graceful, feminine shape and is a unique and beautiful natural landscape of Changbai Mountain. Introduction The scientific name of the Beauty Pine is Pinus sylvestris var. sylvestriformis. It grows in Erdaobaihe and Hepingying areas of Changbai Mountain, either in pure stands or scattered as individual trees. It is an evergreen tree, 25–30 meters tall, with a diameter of 25–40 centimeters. The crown is oval or flat-ovate-triangular or umbrella-shaped. The lower part of the trunk has brownish bark with deep, irregularly rectangular fissures, while the upper part is yellowish-brown to reddish-yellow with thin, flaky bark that peels off slightly curled.
