Tiger's Back is a major scenic spot on the western slope of Changbai Mountain. It is also a formidable challenge. After passing Gasping Slope, you’ll reach Tiger's Back. It was once an essential route for hikers ascending to view Heaven Lake on foot. The mountain resembles a reclining tiger, with a winding path running along its spine, flanked by steep slopes and cliffs—extremely rugged and treacherous. Hikers must proceed with great caution. Once past Tiger's Back, the mysterious Heaven Lake is not far away.

Tiger's Back presents uniquely striking scenery all year round. In spring, the rocks of the tiger’s back emerge from beneath the snow, while bright yellow azaleas bloom fiercely along its “waist” amidst the white. In summer, the back is covered in lush greenery, as if draped in a camouflage suit. In autumn, in its true colors and under the sunlight, the tiger shows off a dazzling array of hues—perhaps this is when Tiger's Back is at its most beautiful. In winter, everything turns white, and the tiger becomes a silver beast lying across Changbai Mountain, appearing sacred and untouchable. Gazing at Tiger's Back, you can only admire its beauty. But actually walking on it feels like riding atop a tiger—thrilling and awe-inspiring.
