Luanzhou Uprising Memorial Park of the 1911 Revolution
Luanzhou Uprising Memorial Park of the 1911 Revolution is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism site.
The Monument to the Martyrs of the Luanzhou Revolution of 1911 is located on the southern hillside of Wenquan in Haidian District. Built in 1936, it commemorates the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the armed uprising of the 20th Regiment of the Qing Army in Luanzhou in 1911. The tower is constructed of stone, octagonal with seven stories, adorned with gray-blue tiled upturned eaves, exuding solemnity and tranquility. The memorial park faces east, with a stone gate at the entrance. Inside the park, structures are arranged along the mountain slope from south to north, including stone steles, stele pavilions, cliff inscriptions, and an octagonal stone pagoda. The buildings bear inscriptions by Feng Yuxiang, Zhao Dengyu, Zhang Zizhong, and details honoring the fallen martyrs.
Luanzhou Uprising Memorial Park is an early Republican-era commemorative cemetery site in Haidian District, Beijing. It is classified as an important modern historical site and representative building, situated within the Elderly Hospital (formerly the Thoracic Hospital) in Wenquan Town, Haidian District, Beijing. The structures were all built in April 1937, though the initiative dates to 1936 when General Feng Yuxiang sought to commemorate the martyrs of the Luanzhou Uprising. The park includes a garden gate, stone steles, a cenotaph stele, rock carvings, a high platform, and a tower. This memorial site directly documents the January 3, 1912 uprising led by Tongmenghui members Wang Jinming, Shi Congyun, and Bai Yayu, who commanded the New Army in Luanzhou. It holds significant historical research value. It was designated as a Beijing Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 1984 and was listed as part of the sixth group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council in May 2006.
