Located at the northwest corner of Hero Square (formerly Children’s Park) in Tiexi District, Siping City, commonly known as the “Meteorological Building.” This building was constructed in 1933 by the Japanese Kwantung Meteorological Management Department and was originally named the Siping Meteorological Observation Station, abbreviated as the Observation Post. It was one of the earliest observation stations in the country. In March 1946 during the First Battle of Siping, this building served as the command post of the Northeast Democratic Allied Forces’ urban assault troops, with commanders including Zhong Wei and Ma Renxing.
