Huilong Park
Huilong Park is a traditional garden that combines classical Chinese garden style with modern landscaping. Its winding paths, terraced slopes, classic structures like the Pearl Pavilion, Peony Pavilion, Ruyi Pavilion, shaded flower stands, and essential traditional features such as rockeries and floral elements like peonies and roses, along with thoughtfully arranged vegetation, together craft an artistic spatial experience of secluded paths, where the vast encompasses the intimate and the intimate reveals the vast—embodying the spatial artistry and scenic identity rich in traditional Chinese garden characteristics.
The introduction of dragon culture opens up a broad, structured visual corridor in the park, infusing the concept of dragon culture and establishing a spatial sequence for appreciating dragon-themed landscapes. This creates a scenic pattern rich in traditional cultural heritage and distinct character. Additionally, there are themed landscape spaces such as the Wood Dialogue Area, Water Dialogue Area, Sand Dialogue Area, Flower Dialogue Area, Forest Dialogue Area, and Stone Dialogue Area, each centered around observation themes like “wood, water, sand, flowers, woods, and stones.” The park features a multifunctional central square, with smaller, diversely functional leisure activity squares surrounding it—catering to various needs by providing a range of spaces for relaxation, sightseeing, entertainment, activities, sports, fitness, and dining. This design adheres to a human-centered approach. People are the main focus of the park, while the 50,000-square-meter green landscape serves as a supporting backdrop. Visitors can access every scenic area, spot, and even corner of the park, finding leisure spaces suited to their mood.
The spatial nature of the park is mainly divided into dynamic and static zones. The southern part focuses on activities, sports, fitness, entertainment, and dining, highlighting a “dynamic” spatial character. The northern section emphasizes leisure, sightseeing, and strolling, underscoring a “static” quality, while minimizing interference with buildings. The dynamic and static areas are separated by gentle slopes and vegetation. The park is divided into four scenic zones: the ceremonial activity zone, the ecological leisure zone, the senior and children’s activity zone, and the leisure service zone. Each functional scenic area features landscape spaces with distinct themes, including the Dragon Culture Landscape Corridor themed around dragon culture, the Wood Dialogue Area themed around wooden stump arrangements, the Water Dialogue Area themed around cascading water and fountains, the Sand Dialogue Area themed around white sand and light shadows, the Flower Dialogue Area themed around peony blossoms and the Peony Pavilion, the Forest Dialogue Area themed around scenic woodlands, and the Rockery Landscape Area themed around rock formations and stone arrangements.
