Xinghua Park

Xinghua Park is located on Xinghua South Street in Tiexi District, Shenyang. Established in 1939, it was originally named Jiaying Park. In 1946, it was renamed Xinghua Park. However, before the liberation, this so-called park was actually just two open plots of land without any landscaping facilities. In 1950, Xinghua Park was officially rebuilt, and over time, a floral greenhouse, fish cellar, and asphalt roads were added. A fountain was built, an 8-meter-high artificial hill covering 400 square meters was constructed, and a children’s playground was created, featuring amusement rides such as a spaceship, electric cars, mini trains, and bumper cars. A 700-square-meter “Western Garden Dance Hall” was also established, along with features like an artificial hill waterfall and mushroom-shaped pavilions. Over 32,000 coniferous and broadleaf trees and more than 2,200 square meters of lawn were planted. These developments transformed Xinghua Park into a delightful leisure and recreational destination, covered in greenery, with fresh air, beautiful surroundings, novel and tasteful garden structures, neat pathways, and tranquil winding routes.
