China Industrial Museum

The China Industrial Museum is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The China Industrial Museum is located at No. 14 Weigong North Street, Tiexi District, Shenyang City. It was expanded from the former Foundry Museum (the original site of Shenyang Foundry Factory). Covering a total area of 80,000 square meters with a building area of 60,000 square meters, the museum was jointly constructed by the provincial, municipal, and district governments. It is currently the largest comprehensive industrial museum in China, housing a collection of over 30,000 industrial artifacts dating back to the Shang Dynasty, spanning more than 4,000 years.

The foundation work for the China Industrial Museum began on May 18, 2011, with the overall architecture combining both old and new construction methods. On May 18, 2012, the first phase of the museum officially opened, featuring the General History Hall, Machine Tool Hall, and Foundry Hall. In 2013, while enhancing the functions of the first-phase exhibition halls, areas for dining, leisure, experience, and interaction were added. Meanwhile, the construction continued on seven additional exhibition halls: Metallurgy Hall, Heavy Equipment Hall, Automobile Hall, Electromechanical Hall, Hong Kong Hall, Vehicle Model Exhibition, and Tiexi Hall. This ultimately established the “9+1” exhibition hall configuration model. The entire museum officially opened to the public on September 1, 2013. The China Industrial Museum will serve as a base for the dissemination of industrial culture and research on China’s industrial history, an advantageous platform for academic research and science education, and a spiritual home for promoting patriotism, honoring the glorious traditions of industrial workers, the spirit of model workers, and advanced ideological culture.
