BMW Brilliance Automotive Tiexi Plant
BMW Brilliance Automotive Tiexi Plant is a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction.
In recent years, as a new concept in tourism, industrial tourism has garnered increasing public attention. The approval of BMW Brilliance Automotive Tiexi Plant as a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction not only enriches China’s industrial tourism offerings but also has far-reaching impacts on promoting the popularization of science and technology, enhancing national quality, and optimizing the tourism product structure of Liaoning Province.
“The recognition of the Tiexi Plant as a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction confirms the strong alignment between BMW Brilliance’s development strategy and the 13th Five-Year Plan principles of ‘innovation, coordination, green development, openness, and sharing’. The use of environmentally friendly and intelligent production technologies also reflects the shared vision of Germany’s Industry 4.0 and China’s Made in China 2025,” said Dr. Johann Wieland, President and CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive. “Building on this new milestone, BMW Brilliance will continue to make outstanding contributions to the economic development of Liaoning Province and the revitalization of Northeast China. Together with every employee, we will lead innovation, uphold sustainable development, and comprehensively deepen our corporate social responsibility.”
BMW Brilliance Automotive Tiexi Plant boasts four advanced production workshops—stamping, body shop, paint shop, and final assembly—that offer the public a rare opportunity to witness cutting-edge automotive manufacturing processes up close.
As a technological leader in China’s automotive industry, the Tiexi Plant’s stamping workshop uses highly efficient and energy-saving 6-sequence servo presses, forming a stamping production line that is fast, efficient, precise, and environmentally friendly. The body shop employs over 600 robots, achieving an automation rate of over 95%. The paint shop adopts innovative technologies that significantly reduce water consumption, volatile organic compounds, and wastewater emissions. Most workstations in the final assembly shop are equipped with highly ergonomic and advanced equipment, creating a spacious, comfortable, and humanized working environment, thereby achieving higher production efficiency and product quality.
In addition, the plant’s main office building features a flowing design. Upon entering, visitors can see brightly colored car bodies traveling from the paint shop through a conveyor system, passing through the second floor of the main office building into the final assembly shop. The entire conveying process is “noise-free” and “pollution-free”, allowing the public to experience firsthand the vibrant energy of this modern factory. (Source: Autohome)
The open-design main office building also includes distinctive multifunctional areas and cultural exhibition spaces, providing employees with a spacious, comfortable, and humanized working environment.
The scientific layout has incorporated energy conservation and environmental protection as guiding principles from the design stage: for example, the “energy tunnel” was completed first during the initial plant construction, housing centralized power, water supply, and heating pipelines. This design eliminates the need for pipeline excavation and installation during future plant expansions, saving substantial labor, materials, and costs. The factory buildings utilize natural ventilation and regulate temperature with groundwater, significantly reducing electricity usage. The smart building management system monitors over 10,000 detectors across the plant and office buildings 24/7, automatically analyzing and adjusting energy usage to truly achieve green production. Rich interactive experiences to explore the charm of BMW
To provide a comfortable and pleasant working and visiting environment for both employees and the public, the plant features amenities such as a restaurant, medical center, fitness center, café, and art exhibition area, fully reflecting BMW’s people-oriented brand philosophy.
Meanwhile, the digital tour experience independently developed by BMW Brilliance’s IT department offers the public a more convenient and unique visit. The factory tour app enables online booking, in-app payment, facial recognition at the entrance, LBS-based precise information push, and visitor satisfaction surveys, among other features.
