Sannong Expo Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Shenyang Sannong Expo Park (Xinmin Cultural Expo Park) was established and developed under the backdrop of building a new Xinmin and fostering a vibrant cultural scene. It is distinguished by its beautiful landscapes, numerous exhibition halls, rich cultural content, and high technological integration. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national agricultural tourism demonstration site, a social practice base for university students in Shenyang and an agricultural practice base for middle and primary school students, a modern agricultural park in Liaoning Province, a provincial and municipal science education base, one of the most beautiful places in Liaoning, and one of the most popular scenic spots in Shenyang — vibrant, educational, and endlessly entertaining.

The park is located in Changgangzi Village, Dalutun Town, Xinmin City, 75 kilometers from Shenyang, 15 kilometers from downtown Xinmin. National Highway 304 runs along the southern edge of the park, and the Shen-Tong Expressway provides direct access via the “Xinmin North Station” exit. A train from Shenyang South Railway Station takes only 50 minutes to reach Xinmin Station.

The park covers an area of 400,000 square meters and features ten major scenic areas and 34 exhibition halls. The grounds are paved with marble slabs, with winding paths leading to serene spots, corridors connecting pavilions, and exhibition halls interlinked. The site remains dust-free even on windy days, and flowers bloom throughout.

The ten major scenic areas are:

Longquan Pagoda Scenic Area: A nine-story Longquan Pagoda, zigzag bridge for fish viewing, Xing Bridge for lotus appreciation, and a fish-viewing corridor.

Water Park Scenic Area: Deyue Tower (uniquely designed, multifunctional high-end service center for dining, leisure, entertainment, and conferences), a three-faced jade-carved Guanyin statue dripping water, a 12-meter-long jade dragon boat, boating on the water, and the Lishan Waterfall.

Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea Scenic Area: Inscription stele, Eight Immortals mural, Dingding (ancient ritual vessel), large jade carving of Eight Steeds Facing the Sun, and Pear Garden.

Guocuiyuan Open-Air Theater Scenic Area: Twenty acres of silver poplars, Jingtong Grand Theater, Tianxiang Pavilion, celebrity stele corridor, bronze statues of Peking Opera roles (Sheng, Dan, Jing, Chou), a massive whole-jade carved immortal dwelling from Xiuyan jade, celebrity calligraphy stele forest, and painted corridor.

Wangjiatun Street Scenic Area: A reproduction of rural architecture from the 1970s People’s Commune era, including the production brigade, production team, farmers’ homes, “Five-Seven” soldiers’ homes, elementary school, and thatched pavilion square.

Changxinyuan Scenic Area: Architecture in the style of southern Jiangsu, featuring fountains, fishing spots, and views complementing the Longquan Pagoda and lotus pond.

Xin’an Gate Scenic Area: Xin’an Gate is situated along the central axis of the park. It is a two-story palace-style building, tall and majestic, echoing the Dingyuan Gate. Visitors can climb the sky ladder from the Science and Technology Park to walk up to the city platform, enjoy tea and rest, and overlook the entire park. Between the north and south gates lies a 10,000-square-meter parking lot, 60 uniquely posed farmer stone sculptures, as well as the Duleyuan and Eco-Park.

One Family, Three Heroes Scenic Area: A bronze statue of Nurhaci, relief sculptures of model students, the One Family, Three Heroes memorial archway, a statue of Deng Shichang, imitation Beijing siheyuan (courtyard house) complexes, an octagonal tower in Manchu architectural style, and a peony garden.

Agricultural Encyclopedia Garden Scenic Area: Grapevines, ganoderma gardens, ornamental corridors, and over 200 varieties of crops.

Three Saints Temple Scenic Area: A classical four-courtyard, three-section architectural complex, with grand halls for Confucian Saint, Taoist Saint, and Buddhist Saint.

Sixteen pavilions and pavilions, along with more than twenty exquisite sculptures and reliefs, are placed throughout the park.

The 34 exhibition halls are divided into five major categories:

Folk Culture Category: Calligraphy, Photography, and Painting Hall (award-winning works from Xinmin); Grain Art Hall (over a hundred seed-pasted paintings); Errenzhuan Hall (folk art hall); Century Costume Hall (clothing from various periods from the late Qing Dynasty to pre-liberation); Agricultural History Materials Hall (housing over 3,000 pieces of production tools and daily items used by farmers over the past century); Folk Customs Hall (exploring ancestry, Dongbei regional culture, life rituals, and festival traditions); Rural Craftsmen Hall; Handicrafts Hall (fine folk handicrafts collected nationwide); Folk Paper-cutting Hall (over a thousand authentic pieces collected nationwide); Lantern Art Hall; Oil Sculpture Arts Hall (highly condensed oil sculptures, the only one in the world).

Historical Culture Category: Emperors’ Rise and Fall Hall, Tibetan Culture and Art Hall, Antique Clocks Hall (over a thousand antique clocks from China and abroad), Liao and Jin Ceramics Art Hall, ?Minglou Relics Exhibition Hall?, Photo Gallery (showcasing photos from different eras), War of Resistance Historical Materials Hall, and others.

Peking Opera Art Category: Peking Opera Hall I (Peking Opera education), Peking Opera Hall II (famous artists and arias); the first and largest of their kind in China.

Science and Technology Culture Category: Science and Wisdom Hall (A, B), Rare Animals Specimen Hall, Tai Sui Hall (mother and child Tai Sui), UFO Hall, Fossil Hall (authentic fossils unearthed in Chaoyang), Lock Culture Hall (over 700 uniquely shaped locks from ancient to modern times, enlightening and educational).

Modern Figures Category: Majia Hall, Yang Daqun Hall, Huashulan & Feng Yuping Master-Disciple Hall, Li Suwen Hall, Songstress Liu Sanjie Hall, Wang San’ge & Wang Sanpo Hall.

Each hall showcases a unique culture and revives a segment of history. Rich, detailed, accessible, and thought-provoking.

Shenyang Sannong Expo Park (Xinmin Cultural Expo Park) has great potential for future development. Centered around the themes of promoting folk culture and protecting intangible cultural heritage, it aims to become the largest and only cultural park of its kind in China, continuously improving and expanding. In the next two to three years, the number of exhibition halls will increase from the current 34 to 50.

Shenyang Sannong Expo Park (Xinmin Cultural Expo Park) will become a collection center, exhibition center, and education center for intangible cultural heritage, leading the way in national culture and showcasing the charm of Chinese civilization.
