Tieling Zhenziling Reservoir

Zhenziling Reservoir is a provincial-level large Type II reservoir, with a designed storage capacity of 210 million cubic meters, a water surface area of 8.7 square kilometers, and a tourism planning area of up to 22 square kilometers.

Zhenziling Reservoir spans across Baiqizhai and Jiguan Mountain in Tieling County, extends east to Fushun, and borders Kaiyuan to the north. It is about 50 kilometers via the northern route and about 60 kilometers via the southern route from downtown Tieling. It is also 50 kilometers from downtown Fushun and 75 kilometers from downtown Shenyang, offering very convenient transportation. The area features lush forests, with a green visibility rate of 100%, and is home to various wild species, birds, mammals, and more. There are 14 species of amphibians and reptiles represented by the forest frog, including 4 species under national key protection and 25 species under provincial key protection. The ecological environment here is beautiful, with clear blue waters, green mountains, fresh air, and continuous rugged hills. Known as the “Emerald Pool in the Valley,” it is an ideal place for hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, and recuperation.

Currently, the Zhenziling Reservoir scenic area has one hotel covering an area of 800 square meters. Plans include adding three specialty restaurants, constructing one fully equipped conference room, one entertainment palace, and one flower-bird amusement park. Additionally, two new docks will be built, along with two large luxury cruise ships, six speedboats, and fifteen rowboats. A total of 1,000 fishing platforms will be installed, a comprehensive bathing beach will be constructed, and eight tourist attractions will be developed. Zhenziling Reservoir is becoming a renowned scenic tourist destination in northern Liaoning.

The “Holy City Rafting” project at Zhenziling Reservoir began preparations in November last year and had its first trial rafting in June this year. It currently has 50 professional rafting boats, with a daily reception capacity of up to 500 people. The “Holy City Rafting” route starts from the base of the Zhenziling Reservoir dam and ends at the second-level power station of the reservoir, covering a total length of 4.5 kilometers.
