Tieling Lotus Lake Wetland is a national wetland park.

Lotus Lake is situated in the central part of Fanhe Town and is a wetland formed by the Liao River as it flows through Tieling County. It extends north to Duck Lake on the southern bank of the Liao River, connects southward to Pentagon Lake and Mandarin Duck Lake, and reaches westward to Camel Lake. More than ten lakes are dotted across the landscape, covering an area of dozens of square kilometers. A poem about the Eight Scenic Spots of Tieling goes: “Mist drifts across the autumn lake, where mandarin ducks appear and disappear. Among them, boaters sing joyfully under the bright moon.” Lotus Lake is a natural body of water, untouched by human hands. During spring, summer, and autumn each year, the lake is alive with dancing cranes and warbling orioles, serving as a habitat and breeding ground for thousands of birds.

Stepping into the Lotus Lake Wetland Park in Tieling City, Liaoning Province, a captivating ink-wash painting unfolds before your eyes. The azure sky blends seamlessly with the deep blue lake surface, creating a breathtaking water-sky horizon. Various migratory birds such as oriental white storks and grey herons play and soar above the lake, presenting a marvelous scene of harmony between birds and nature. Dozens of acres of reeds stretch across the rippling waves, bringing a sense of tranquility and leaving visitors enchanted and reluctant to leave.

Fanhe Town: Located in the southern suburbs of Tieling City, Fanhe Town covers an area of 180 square kilometers, governs 32 administrative villages, and has a population of 60,000. It has been honored with the title of “One of China’s Top 100 Star Townships” awarded by the State Council and is the first provincial-level civilized township in northern Liaoning. Party and state leaders such as Zhu Rongji have visited Fanhe for inspection.

Fanhe Town enjoys excellent geographical advantages.
